Cheque Presentation to Castlemilk High School

After an appeal by Castlemilk High School for help to fund a residential trip for some of its pupils to the Camas Centre on Mull, Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors stepped into the breach to donate £500 towards the trip.

Rev Sarah Brown, School Chaplain at Castlemilk High School, said:

“We didn’t receive the funding we needed in time and we were in a position where we were going to have to cancel the trip if we didn’t get external resourcing. Thanks to Anderson Maguire and a number of other individuals, the trip went ahead and proved to be very successful.

“The trip gave the opportunity for a small number of pupils, beyond the school timetable, to develop relationships with teachers and build their own personal confidence.”

Chairman Dom Maguire commented:

“We have a dedicated Anderson Maguire Community Outreach committee and when we received this appeal from Castlemilk High School, we were delighted to be in a position to help these school children obtain a really worthwhile experience.”

Notes to Editors:

Camas welcomes groups and individuals to its pink granite cottages nestled in an isolated bay on the Ross of Mull, a mile and half away from the road. The aim of the centre is to provide a safe haven for individuals to enjoy the company of their group, the wonder of Scotland’s west coast environment and to offer each person opportunities for personal and spiritual development.
