At Anderson Maguire, we are not only a family-run business, but a business that is all about family. We work with families to make sure that we take some of the stress out of one of the hardest times they may face and in turn, they trust us with providing a service that celebrates the life and memory of a loved one. Because family is so important to us, it was an honour to be chosen as a Finalist at The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards 2015 in the Business Innovation category.
The business was established in 1982 by our very own Dom Maguire and with support from the community, we are now recognised as one of the top three independent family-run Funeral Directors in Scotland, with eleven homes throughout Glasgow. Care and compassion are the two factors which epitomise Anderson Maguire staff.
The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards are now in their fourth year and celebrate family firms, both large and small, that have prospered in their business. This is not the first time we have been recognised by The Herald Family Business Awards. In 2012, we were extremely proud to receive a commendation for Excellence in Customer Service and the following year, Dom received the top honour for Outstanding Achievement
One of the main aspects which is taken into consideration when a nomination is made for these awards is how the business contributes to the community. Anderson Maguire’s ethos of care to the communities we work in and our continually evolving business are fundamental factors as to why we are in the proud position to be nominated again this year.
It is an honour to be associated with these awards but we simply could not have done this alone. The support and rapport which has been generated over the years within the community has been paramount to the success of Anderson Maguire and we plan to continue that relationship for many more generations.
