pic 1More than 300 people gathered recently at a glittering evening at The Crowne Plaza Hotel to raise funds for the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice in Clydebank.  Sponsored by the Anderson Maguire Foundation Programme and hosted by football legend and Clyde 1 DJ, Gina McKie, the event raised more than £8,500 for this truly inspiring cause.  Since their doors opened in 1950, St Margaret of Scotland Hospice has touched the lives of thousands of patients with advanced life-limiting illness and older people with complex medical and nursing needs, their families and friends.

Paul Webb, Managing Director of Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors, said:

“Given the nature of our business, we are very much involved in the communities we work in.  Through the Anderson Maguire Foundation Programme, we are committed to supporting everything which is good about this very generous city.  We were very proud to support the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice which does such tremendous work for families at their time of need.

Bernadette Wills, Detective Sergeant Greater Glasgow CID and organiser of the event, commented:

“Every year Detectives from Greater Glasgow CID take part in various fundraising events to raise cash for charities close to their hearts.  This year we decided to host a charity ball to support St Margaret of Scotland Hospice based in Clydebank. This is the first time we’ve hosted an event of this size.  With the support of some fantastic sponsors, we raised £8500 for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice and I would like to thank Anderson Maguire, who without doubt, helped make the event such a great success.”
